Scholarship Information (Copies of these scholarship applications can be found in the counseling office reception area grey file cabinet under “Scholarships” if a website address is NOT listed.)

 

* The Georgia Electronic Life Safety & Systems Association (GELSSA) offers scholarships to seniors whose parent is a full-time paid member of the police, sheriff’s department or fire department or a volunteer member of a fire department.  Student must have proof of acceptance to a college or university.  (deadline is 3/30/07)

 

* The Robert Wharton Foundation awards two academic scholarships to students who best embody the goals and ideals of inspiring and encouraging excellence in others; who exemplify excellence inside and outside the classroom.  Apply at www.rfwfoundation.com.  (deadline is 4/7/07)

 

* The Gus Thornhill Scholarship Fund awards a $1,500 scholarship to a South Fulton County senior with at least a 2.5 gpa, with demonstrated service to the school and community and financial need.  A letter of acceptance to college, and reference letters are required. (deadline is 4/1/07)

 

* Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants award a $1,000 scholarship.  Students must submit an essay on one of the two topics that appear on the scholarship page of their web site:  www.abbottandfenner.com/scholarships.htm.  (deadline is 6/20/07)

 

* The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity-High Aspirations Foundation offers ten scholarships ranging from $250 to $1,000 to students who demonstrate leadership, community service and moral character.  A 500 word essay is required.  (deadline is 4/14/07)

 

* The Atlanta Sky-Hi Club/Tall Clubs International offers scholarships to females who are at least 5’10”/males who are at least 6’2” tall, who have outstanding academic records, are involvement in clubs and activities in school and outside school.  An essay is required.  Apply at www.atlantatallclub.org.  Click on the “Contact” button and scroll to “Scholarship Information”.  (deadline is 4/13/07)

 

* The Southwest Atlanta Real Estate Focus Group (SWAREFG) awards three $1,000 scholarships to students from South Fulton and Atlanta City schools.  Students must have at least an 80 gpa, community/volunteer work, and an acceptance letter to a college or vocational school.  An essay is required.  (deadline is 4/11/07)

 

* The Nu Lambda Omega Foundation, Inc. Sorority offers four $1,000 scholarships to students who will attend any accredited 4-year college; three $2,000 scholarships to students who will attend any Historically Black college or university.  Apply on-line at www.nulambdaomega.org.  (Click on “announcements”).  (deadline is 3/16/07)

 

* North Georgia College & State University offers a brand new ROTC Language Scholarship Program for students interested in majoring in French or Spanish at North Georgia who want to commission as offers in the Regular Army.  Interested students should contact either LTC Chip Seatte at csweatte@ngcsu.edu or CPT Jong Lee at julee@ngcsu.edu.

 

* The Concerned Black Clergy sponsors the Make A Way Scholarship Program for students who are members of a CBS church/mosque/temple.  (deadline is 4/2/07)
